AHP Humanitarian Response Update 2023-24
Throughout 2023-24, Australian Humanitarian Partnership (AHP) NGOs have continued to respond to a range of global crises, in the Indo Pacific region and beyond, with the support of the Australian Government.
The 2024 UN Global Humanitarian Overview estimates nearly 300 million people around the world will need humanitarian assistance and protection in 2024. The report points to three key factors: increasing conflict, the worsening impacts of the global climate emergency, and economic factors.
These global issues have shaped AHP priorities over the past 12 months.
