Save the Children Australia

Save the Children Australia is one of the world’s leading children’s organisations.

When disaster strikes, Save the Children is on the ground providing lifesaving support to children and their families. In times of crisis, we provide food, clean water, healthcare and shelter, as well as services such as education and protection support for children.

Through the Australian Humanitarian Partnership (AHP), Save the Children has responded to crises such as Yemen (WASH, food security, health, nutrition, education and protection activities) and the Ambae volcano evacuation in Vanuatu (protection, health, education and WASH activities).

We are currently working with AHP to respond to the crisis in northern Iraq (protection, WASH, livelihoods and health activities), the Bangladesh-Myanmar humanitarian crisis in Cox's Bazar (health, nutrition, WASH, protection and education activities), to support Syrian refugees in Jordan (education, child protection and livelihoods activities), to help the people of Tonga recover from recent natural disasters (education activities) and in response to Typhoon Rai in the Philippines (WASH, nutrition and livelihoods).

Through Disaster READY, Save the Children is working in Fiji, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu to support communities to prepare for crises, including by building and trialling cash and voucher mechanisms.
